From 1970 - 1979, W.S. Sign Design Coporation Founder/President Ron Whitaker was responsible for
specifications compliance, manufacturing,
maintenance and installation for signs for the State of Ohio Department of Transportation.
Since 1981 he has been a Director for the American Traffic Safety Services Association.
ATSSA is a major contributor to the FHWA when it comes to writing specifications for signs.
Mr. Whitaker's manufacturing facility has been one of the largest sign companies in the country.
In the last twenty-five years his companies have supplied over thirty million square feet of traffic
signs and over one hundred million pounds of aluminum blanks to states, cities and counties throughout
the Unites States.
We have worked closely with our client agencies to develop design and material specifications unique
to their respective needs. The technical input we have provided to Transit Authorities is extensive.
W.S. Sign Design Corporation can work with any Transit Authority or development group to
provide signs that will provide exceptional outdoor weathering and long-term performance.
